Legislature Passes 2023 State Budget Act w/ Mandate Funding

On Thursday, June 15, the State Legislature passed SB 101 (the 2023 State Budget Act) which includes $141.4 million in new mandated cost funding for Locals, including $50.5 million in funding for RIPA.  This funding for RIPA is for the Waves 1-4 State-Mandated Cost claims filed by cities and counties for eligible costs incurred from November 2017 through June 2022.

The 2023 State Budget Act is now sitting on the Governor’s desk awaiting review and signature. Once signed, payment for these claims will be sent in the next 60 days to those agencies who filed timely claims (checks will be cut and sent by the State Controller’s Office by August 15, 2023).

As always, please let me know if you have any questions.
